As of September, I am the editor for South24 News’s English Department. The South24 Center for News and Studies is an organization based in South Yemen, focusing on news related to the South, who are striving for independence. The role involves:

• Rewriting breaking news stories that have been translated from Arabic
• Proofreading and editing reports
• Writing breaking news reports using information from multiple sources
• Writing bigger reports that delve into political issues and explore wider implications

I was able to land this position thanks to my time as a journalist for the Vietnam Times. It’s my first time being an editor, and though the job can be stressful at times, it’s an exciting opportunity to write about issues that matter.
